Internet And Social Media Users Report Released In The Country

PTA released a report on internet and social media users

Pakistan Telecom Authority has released a report on internet and social media users in the country.

According to PTA statistics, 144 million men in Pakistan have their own mobile phone. 38 million women have personal mobile phone.

 In addition, 65% of men and 25% of women in the country own mobile phones and SIMs.

 In 2021, 52% of men and 47.5% of women used Facebook. The number of men using Instagram was 53.2% while the number of female users of Instagram was 46.8%.

 Last year, 58.6% of men used YouTube and 41.4% of female users were on YouTube.

 The report said that 68.8% of men used WhatsApp while 31% of female users used WhatsApp.

 In addition, 18.8 million women in Pakistan have branchless banking accounts, while 55.7 million men have branchless accounts.

 The number of internet users in Pakistan is 46% of total population and 100 million people use internet. The number of male users is 79 million (71%) and the number of female Internet users is 21 million (21%).

 In addition, more than 98% of people access social media through mobile phones.
